Preferred Gateway to Yellowstone

A genuine cowboy city, Cody is famous for its nightly rodeos and its proximity to the protected wilderness areas of the world's first national park, now designated as one of the country's World Heritage Sites.
Kick off your visit on the 27th (Sun): see the interesting displays at Cody Dug Up Gun Museum, then take an in-depth tour of Buffalo Bill Center of the West, then examine the collection at Cody Firearms Museum, and finally look for gifts at Sierra Trading Post. Here are some ideas for day two: tour the pleasant surroundings at Dead Indian Summit Overlook, then cruise along Beartooth Hwy, and then admire the engineering at Buffalo Bill Dam.
