Founded in 1859 as part of the Gold Rush in the Rockies, Breckenridge boasts a main street lined with colorful wooden storefronts housing cafes and shops, giving the effect of a thriving western town from the 19th century.
On the 3rd (Fri), fly down the slopes at Breckenridge Ski Resort. Here are some ideas for day two: get your game on at Vail Valley Escape Room, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Vail Mountain Resort, and then stop by Breck Wine and Cheese.

Traveling by combination of bus and taxi from Steamboat Springs to Breckenridge takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of taxi, flight, and shuttle. In April, Breckenridge is little chillier than Steamboat Springs - with highs of 35°F and lows of 22°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 4th (Sat) to allow time to drive to Aspen.

Known as a ski resort town, Aspen's history goes back to its roots as a silver-mining village tucked away in an isolated valley of the Rocky Mountains.
Change things up with a short trip to Thermal Spas in Glenwood Springs (about 1h 25 min away). On the 8th (Wed), spend an exhilarating day on the slopes at Aspen Highlands.
