Known as the "Venice of America" because of its extensive network of navigable waterways, Fort Lauderdale welcomes over 10 million annual visitors, most of them attracted by the city's popular beaches and marinas.
Visit Lincoln Road and Art Deco Historic District for their historical value. Museum-lovers will get to explore Henry Morrison Flagler Museum and Pérez Art Museum Miami. Explore Fort Lauderdale's surroundings by going to Everglades Alligator Farm (in Homestead), Miami Beach (South Beach, Collins Avenue, & more) and Everglades National Park (in Florida City). There's lots more to do: look for all kinds of wild species at Anhinga Trail, kick back and relax at John D. MacArthur Beach State Park, explore the galleries of Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum, and stroll through Haulover Beach Park.

For reviews, ratings, and tourist information, refer to the Fort Lauderdale trip planner.

If you are flying in from Jamaica, the closest major airports are Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport, Miami International Airport and Palm Beach International Airport. In September, daytime highs in Fort Lauderdale are 36°C, while nighttime lows are 29°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 29th (Fri) to allow time to travel back home.
