Honolulu, Oahu

In many ways much more Asian than American, Honolulu is Hawaii's largest city and its center of government, transportation, commerce, and tourism.
Step off the beaten path and head to Photography Tours and Koko Crater Railway Trail. Explore Honolulu's surroundings by going to Byodo-In Temple (in Kaneohe) and Kailua (Kailua Beach Park & Lanikai Beach). The adventure continues: stroll through Waikiki Beach, let your taste buds guide you at a local gastronomic tour, get great views at Puu Ualakaa State Park, and go for a walk through Diamond Head State Monument.

For more things to do, reviews, other places to visit, and other tourist information, refer to the Honolulu road trip website .

Munich, Germany to Honolulu is an approximately 20.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of train and flight. The time zone difference moving from Central European Time to Hawaii Standard Time is minus 11 hours. Plan for much hotter temperatures traveling from Munich in October, with highs in Honolulu at 36°C and lows at 27°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 28th (Mon) to allow time to travel to Kihei.

Those who named Volcano opted for simplicity in choosing a title, taking the nearby fire-spewing Kilauea as a source of inspiration.
Kick off your visit on the 31st (Thu): see the interesting displays at Jagger Museum, hike along Kilauea Iki Trailhead, then stop by Big Island Candies, then take in nature's colorful creations at Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden, and finally admire the natural beauty at Liliuokalani Gardens. Keep things going the next day: explore the striking landscape at Holei Sea Arch, explore and take pictures at Devastation Trail, then take in the dramatic natural features at Thurston Lava Tube (Nahuku), and finally admire the majestic nature at Punalu‘U Beach.

Kailua-Kona, Island of Hawaii

Thanks to its favorable location near a mountain range blocking the northeasterly trade winds, Kailua-Kona gets little rainfall, allowing adventure seekers and nature lovers a chance to enjoy over 300 days of sunshine each year.
Step off the beaten path and head to Manini'owali Beach (Kua Bay) and Fishing Charters & Tours. Venture out of the city with trips to Hapuna Beach State Recreation Area (in Puako), The Captain Cook Monument (in Captain Cook) and Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park (in Honaunau). And it doesn't end there: explore and take pictures at Greenwell Farms, take in the spiritual surroundings of Mokuaikaua Church, and discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour.

To see reviews, ratings, photos, and other tourist information, go to the Kailua-Kona tour planner .
