Houston

— 17 nights

Bayou City

Although urban sprawl remains synonymous with Houston, most of the city's tourist attractions lie within the relatively small downtown area, surrounded by diverse neighborhoods housing the nation's biggest African-American, Asian-American, and Latino communities.
Museum-lovers will get to explore Space Center Houston and Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens. Get in touch with nature at Brazos Bend State Park and Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historic Site. Change things up with these side-trips from Houston: Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge (in Anahuac), Montgomery (Jenkins Sunshine Farm & St Francis Wolf Sanctuary) and Beaumont (McFaddin-Ward House Museum, Spindletop - Gladys City Boomtown Museum, &more). Spend the 20th (Fri) exploring nature at Big Thicket National Preserve. And it doesn't end there: see the interesting displays at The Houston Museum of Natural Science, get engrossed in the history at Museum of the Gulf Coast, admire the natural beauty at Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center, and play a few rounds at Memorial Park.
