Natchez is the county seat and only city of Adams County, Mississippi, United States. Step out of the city life by going to Natchez National Historical Park and Melrose. Your inner history buff will appreciate Windsor Ruins and Choctaw Hall. Venture out of the city with trips to Port Gibson (Port Gibson, Mississippi, First Presbyterian Church of Port Gibson, &more). And it doesn't end there: explore the different monuments and memorials at Natchez National Cemetery, walk around Bluff Park, cruise along The Natchez Trace Parkway, and don't miss a visit to Longwood.

Jackson, officially the City of Jackson, is the capital city and largest urban center of the U.S. state of Mississippi. Take a break from the city and head to Trustmark Park and Vicksburg Campaign Trail. Step off the beaten path and head to Medgar Evers Home and Cedar Hill Cemetery. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Jackson: Vicksburg (U.S.S. Cairo Museum, McRaven House, &more). There's much more to do: hike along Ridgeland Bike Trail, view the masterpieces at Mississippi Civil Rights Museum, admire the striking features of Old Capitol Museum, and immerse yourself in nature at LeFleur's Bluff State Park.

Drive from Natchez to Jackson in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of car and bus; or do a combination of car and train. July in Jackson sees daily highs of 91°F and lows of 73°F at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 17th (Sat) early enough to catch the flight back home.
