Shop till you drop at Fifth Avenue and SoHo. Appreciate the collections at 9/11 Memorial and Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum. Go for a jaunt from New York City to New Paltz to see DM Weil Gallery about 1h 45 min away. Though it may be less popular or touristy than its big brother Manhattan, Brooklyn boasts of one of the largest and hippest art districts in the United States.
Your list of things to see and do now includes Brooklyn Bridge Park, Coney Island, Park Slope, and other attractions. Kick off your visit on the 26th (Sat): wander the streets of Brooklyn Heights, wander the streets of Park Slope, get your game on at Coney Island, get to know the fascinating history of Brooklyn Heights Promenade, then wander the streets of Dumbo, and finally wander the streets of Williamsburg. On the next day, take in nature's colorful creations at Brooklyn Botanic Garden, enjoy the sand and surf at Jones Beach State Park, and then contemplate the long history of St. James General Store.
