Portland — 8 nights

A big city with a small-town feel, Portland is home to the country's biggest rose test garden, perched on a hill overlooking downtown.
Explore hidden gems such as Cannon Beach and Johnston Ridge Observatory. Kids will enjoy Hug Point State Park and Ecola State Park. Venture out of the city with trips to Seaside (Turnaround at Seaside & Seaside Inverted Experience), Salem's Riverfront Carousel (in Salem) and Oswald West State Park (in Cannon Beach). There's still lots to do: get impressive views of Mount St. Helens, admire the landmark architecture of Pittock Mansion, admire the natural beauty at Lan Su Chinese Garden, and indulge in some culinary diversions at a local gastronomic tour.

Seattle — 9 nights

Nicknamed the "Emerald City" because of its abundant evergreen trees, Seattle is the cultural and business center of the Pacific Northwest, as well as a popular holiday destination.
Attractions like Space Needle and Chihuly Garden and Glass make great kid-friendly stops. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Sky View Observatory and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Discovery Center. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Seattle: Tacoma (Point Defiance Park & LeMay - America's Car Museum). Next up on the itinerary: take a stroll through Pike Place Market, walk around Kerry Park, head outdoors with Puget Sound Express, and don't miss a visit to Hiram M. Chittenden Locks.
