Nicknamed the "Emerald City" because of its abundant evergreen trees, Seattle is the cultural and business center of the Pacific Northwest, as well as a popular holiday destination.
You've now added Seward Park to your itinerary. Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Chihuly Garden and Glass and Pioneer Square. Do some cultural sightseeing at Pike Place Market and Glasshouse Studio. Venture out of the city with trips to Olympic National Park (Mount Walker, Lower Big Quilcene Trail, & more), Theler Wetlands Belfair Nature Preserve (in Belfair) and Issaquah (Duthie Hill Park & Friends of Issaquah Salmon Hatchery). There's lots more to do: tour the pleasant surroundings at Alki Beach, enjoy the sand and surf at Seahurst Beach Park, walk around Meadowdale Beach Park, and take in panoramic vistas at Space Needle.
