Malibu is a beach city in Los Angeles County, California, situated 30mi west of Downtown Los Angeles. On the 19th (Thu), kick back and relax at Carbon Beach, examine the collection at The Getty Villa, then tour the pleasant surroundings at Malibu Lagoon State Beach, and finally tour the pleasant surroundings at Surfrider Beach. Drive from Los Angeles to Malibu in an hour. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of tram and bus. When traveling from Los Angeles in August, plan for little chillier days and about the same nights in Malibu: temperatures range from 76°F by day to 65°F at night. On the 21st (Sat), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can fly back home.
