Fort Union National Monument and Enchanted Circle Pottery are good opportunities to explore the local culture. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Taos: Vietnam Veterans Memorial (in Angel Fire), Palisades Sill Official Scenic Historic Marker (in Eagle Nest) and El Santuario de Chimayo (in Chimayo). Dallas to Taos is an approximately 3.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and train. You'll gain 1 hour traveling from Dallas to Taos due to the time zone difference. Traveling from Dallas in March, you will find days in Taos are little chillier (56°F), and nights are much colder (23°F). On the 4th (Tue), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel to Grand Canyon National Park.

The size, shape, and color of Grand Canyon National Park combine to leave an impression on visitors as deep as the canyon itself.
Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Yavapai Geology Museum and Bright Angel Point. Take a break from the city and head to Grand Canyon South Rim and Rim Trail. On the 7th (Fri), hike the day away at Bright Angel Trail. And it doesn't end there: take an in-depth tour of Bright Angel History Room, get great views at Hopi Point, stroll through South Kaibab Trail, and admire the landmark architecture of Grand Canyon Railway Depot.

Towering cliffs of red, white, and pink Navajo sandstone, stream-carved slot canyons, and big blue sky all characterize Zion National Park.
Step out of the city life by going to Zion National Park and Zion Canyon Scenic Drive. Spend the 11th (Tue) exploring nature at The Narrows. There's more to do: hike along Angel's Landing and cruise along Zion-Mt. Carmel Highway.
