The Metropolitan Museum of Art and 9/11 Memorial are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Relax by the water at Kailua Beach Park and Waikiki Beach. Visiting Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve and Waimea Bay will get you outdoors. Change things up with these side-trips from Honolulu: Banzai Pipeline (in Pupukea) and Sunset Beach Park (in Haleiwa). There's still lots to do: explore the different monuments and memorials at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.
