One of the island of Hawaii's major towns, Hilo contains a mix of Asian and Polynesian cultures and is known for its proximity to a national park encompassing two active volcanoes.
Start off your visit on the 4th (Thu): take in the dramatic scenery at Akaka Falls State Park, then take in nature's colorful creations at Liliuokalani Gardens, then tour the pleasant surroundings at Kilauea Iki Trailhead, and finally stroll through Kipuka Puaulu (Bird Park) Trail. On the 5th (Fri), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: get impressive views of Kulanaokuaiki Campground and then cruise along Devastation Trail.

Escape the urban bustle at Haleakala Crater and Hana Highway - Road to Hana. Venture out of the city with trips to Lahaina (Zipline & Ka'anapali Beach). Getting from Hilo to Kihei by combination of flight and taxi takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of bus and flight. In June in Kihei, expect temperatures between 87°F during the day and 71°F at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 9th (Tue) so you can travel to Lihue.

Lihue or Līhue is an unincorporated census-designated place (CDP) and the county seat of Kauai County, Hawaii. Get outdoors at Waimea Canyon State Park and Na Pali Coast State Park.
