Holding a record for the longest pleasure beach in the world, Virginia Beach showcases 35 miles of coastline and maintains a longstanding reputation as a family-friendly vacation destination.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Military Aviation Museum and Chrysler Museum of Art. Escape the urban bustle at First Landing State Park and Sandbridge Beach. Step out of Virginia Beach to go to Cape Charles and see Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel, which is approximately 44 minutes away. There's lots more to do: enjoy the sea views from Cape Henry Lighthouse, stop by Mermaid Factory, see the interesting displays at Virginia Beach Surf & Rescue Museum, and take in the pleasant sights at Virginia Beach Law Enforcement Memorial.
