The capital of the United States, the District of Columbia contains the lion's share of the country's most treasured monuments, memorials, and public museums.
Your day by day itinerary now includes Ford's Theatre as well as Washington Monument. Get some cultural insight at National Air and Space Museum and Fell's Point. National Gallery of Art and Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History will appeal to museum buffs. Go for a jaunt from Washington DC to Baltimore to see Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine about 1h 5 min away.
