Originally a frontier mining town, Durango is known today for its scenic setting, outdoor activities, and the 1880s steam-powered railway that takes visitors through sections of the mountains where roads don't reach.

Originally little more than a simple camp constructed to house workers who built a nearby dam on the Colorado River, Page is now a popular stop for travelers preparing a trip to Arizona's canyon country.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Thor's Hammer and Sunset Point. Do some cultural sightseeing at Navajo Bridge and Antelope Canyon Navajo Tours. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Page: Pipe Spring National Monument (in Fredonia) and Best Friends Animal Sanctuary (in Kanab). There's lots more to do: take in breathtaking views at Antelope Canyon, enjoy some diversion at Gunfighter Canyon, explore and take pictures at Horseshoe Bend, and look for gifts at Big Lake Trading Post.

Fly from Durango to Page in 5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of shuttle and flight. Traveling from Durango in July, things will get a bit warmer in Page: highs are around 98°F and lows about 73°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 28th (Sun) to allow enough time to drive to Tusayan.

Getting from Page to Tusayan by car takes about 3 hours. Other options: take a bus; or take a shuttle. Traveling from Page in July, expect nights in Tusayan to be much colder, around 52°F, while days are slightly colder, around 84°F. Williams

A tiny town with big tourist appeal, Williams lies on one of the first highways ever built in America, the iconic "Route 66." The town boasts many inns, motels, restaurants, and shops, although its most important feature is serving as the southern terminus of a scenic railway leading to the area's most famous tourist attraction, the World Heritage-listed Grand Canyon.
Get in touch with nature at Helicopter Tours and Bearizona Wildlife Park. Museum-lovers will get to explore Ash Fork Historical Society Museum and Return to the 50s. There's still lots to do: steep yourself in history at Kaibab Petroglyphs, pause for some serene contemplation at St Joseph Catholic Church, stop by Thunder Eagle Native Art, and do a tasting at Grand Canyon Wine Company.
