Aptly nicknamed the "Mile-High City," Denver sits at an altitude of 1,600 m (5,280 ft) above sea level, located right where the Great Plains give way to the Rocky Mountains.
Get out of town with these interesting Denver side-trips: Garden of the Gods (in Colorado Springs), Pikes Peak - America's Mountain (in Cascade) and Estes Park (Spas & Estes Park Guided Tours). There's still lots to do: get outside with Outdoor Activities, push the limits with an extreme tour, take a memorable drive along Trail Ridge Road, and take in the awesome beauty at Mount Evans.
