In many ways much more Asian than American, Honolulu is Hawaii's largest city and its center of government, transportation, commerce, and tourism.
Head to Ala Moana Center and Honolulu Cookie Companyfor some retail therapy. Escape the urban bustle at Lanikai Beach and Swim with Dolphins. Explore Honolulu's surroundings by going to Ka'ena Point State Park (in Waianae), Byodo-In Temple (in Kaneohe) and Kailua (Kayaking & Canoeing & Kailua Beach Park). Lihue or Līhue is an unincorporated census-designated place (CDP) and the county seat of Kauai County, Hawaii. Get a sense of the local culture at Kalalau Lookout and Kilohana. Visit Kalapaki Beach and Hanalei Bay for some beach relaxation. Change things up with a short trip to Queen's Bath in Princeville (about 11 hours away). Next up on the itinerary: take in the dramatic scenery at Wailua Falls, brush up on your knowledge of spirits at Koloa Rum Company, enjoy the sea views from Ninini Point Lighthouse Cache Site, and take in the exciting artwork at Tabora Gallery.

Stretching over 9.7 km (6 mi) of pristine south Maui coastline, Kihei is the island's driest and sunniest region, making it a perfect location for water activities and beach leisure.
Kihei Baptist Chapel and The Awakening Church are good opportunities to explore the local culture. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Ho'okipa Beach Park and Zipline. Get out of town with these interesting Kihei side-trips: Kahekili Beach Park (in Lahaina), Parasailing & Paragliding (in Ka'anapali) and Wailua Falls (in Hana). One of the island of Hawaii's major towns, Hilo contains a mix of Asian and Polynesian cultures and is known for its proximity to a national park encompassing two active volcanoes.
You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Carlsmith Beach Park and Reeds Bay Beach Park. Get in touch with nature at Liliuokalani Gardens and Mauna Kea State Recreation Area. Step out of Hilo to go to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and see Holei Sea Arch, which is approximately 1h 30 min away.
