Get out of town with these interesting Los Angeles side-trips: Bart's Books (in Ojai), Running Horse Ranch (in Lake Hughes) and Crystal Cove (in Laguna Beach). Shop till you drop at Sibley's West: The Chandler and Arizona Gift Shop and Watson's Hat Shop. Explore Phoenix's surroundings by going to Queen Creek Olive Mill (in Queen Creek), Casa Grande Ruins National Monument (in Coolidge) and Mesa Market Place Swap Meet (in Mesa).
