Aptly nicknamed the "Mile-High City," Denver sits at an altitude of 1,600 m (5,280 ft) above sea level, located right where the Great Plains give way to the Rocky Mountains.
Appreciate the collections at Denver Botanic Gardens and Denver Art Museum. Head to Pearl Street Mall and Bags by Cab Yarn Shoppefor plenty of shopping. Change things up with a short trip to River Rafting & Tubing in Idaho Springs (about 38 minutes away).
