Galveston

An old colonial city and a busy cruise ship port less than an hour's drive from Houston, Galveston sits on Galveston Island and serves as a popular vacation destination for both domestic and international travelers.
On the 6th (Mon), witness the site of a historic battle at San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site, then get up close to creatures of the deep with a dolphin and whale watching tour, and then don't miss a visit to Old City Cemetery. On the 7th (Tue), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take a stroll through East End Historic District and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Surfside Beach.
