Venture out of the city with trips to Winterplace Ski Resort (in Flat Top), Beckley (Grandview State Park & Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine and Youth Museum) and Lost World Caverns (in Lewisburg). There's still lots to do: take in the views from New River Gorge Bridge, try for a hole-in-one at Mountain State Miniature Golf, explore the striking landscape of New River Gorge National River, and browse the eclectic array of goods at Tamarack.
