On the 27th (Fri), steep yourself in history at 9/11 Memorial and then take in the pleasant sights at Central Park. On the next day, look for gifts at Kalustyan's, then enjoy breathtaking views from Empire State Building, and then make a trip to The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
