The largest municipality in Missouri, Kansas City has an impressive array of world-class museums, shopping areas, and great places to eat, all of which attract tourism to the area.

Start off your visit on the 18th (Fri): take an in-depth tour of Arabia Steamboat Museum, brush up on your military savvy at National WWI Museum and Memorial, and then explore the world behind art at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.

Omaha to Kansas City is an approximately 3.5-hour car ride. You can also take a bus; or fly. In September, plan for daily highs up to 83°F, and evening lows to 64°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 18th (Fri) early enough to go by car to Springfield.

On the 19th (Sat), Head underground at Sequiota Park, explore the fascinating underground world of Fantastic Caverns, then examine the collection at NRA National Sporting Arms Museum, and finally look for gifts at Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World.
