Divided into neighborhoods with distinct characters and cultural heritages, San Diego sits just north of the Mexican border and offers visitors a blend of tourist attractions, including a lively nightlife, diverse cuisine, and a thriving musical scene.
Start off your visit on the 22nd (Sat): examine the collection at Maritime Museum of San Diego. On your second day here, examine the collection at USS Midway Museum and then enjoy the sand and surf at La Jolla Cove.

Surrounded by mountain ranges, forests, valleys, beaches, and deserts, the metropolitan area of Los Angeles is home to over 17 million people.
Take a break from the city and head to Will Rogers State Beach and Santa Monica State Beach. The Getty Center and La Brea Tar Pits and Museum will appeal to museum buffs. Change things up with a short trip to Montana Avenue in Santa Monica (about 36 minutes away). There's still lots to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Venice Beach and Boardwalk, stop by Amoeba Music, get a taste of the local shopping with Abbot Kinney Boulevard, and get a new perspective on nature at Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.
