Florida’s mecca of fun in the sun, the lively tropical metropolis of Miami is one of the world’s top vacation spots.
Visit Lincoln Road and Charlotte Jane Memorial Park Cemetary for their historical value. Your itinerary includes some good beach time at South Beach and Hollywood Beach. Step out of Miami with an excursion to Fort Lauderdale Beach in Fort Lauderdale--about 44 minutes away. There's lots more to do: appreciate the extensive heritage of Art Deco Historic District, browse the different shops at Dolphin Mall, see the interesting displays at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, and take a stroll through Ocean Drive.

Newark to Miami is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Newark in March, expect Miami to be much hotter, temps between 81°F and 65°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 11th (Thu) to allow enough time to drive to Key Largo.

Diving Capital of the World

The northernmost island of the Florida Keys, Key Largo provides stunning scenery, a number of watersports opportunities, and plenty of areas to relax on vacation.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Indian Key State Historic Site and Saint Justin Martyr Catholic Church. You'll get in some beach time at Sunset Park Beach and Harry Harris Park. Change things up with these side-trips from Key Largo: Dolphin Research Center (in Grassy Key), San Pablo Catholic Church (in Marathon) and Anne's Beach (in Islamorada). There's still lots to do: discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour, soothe aching muscles at Island Flow Yoga, immerse yourself in nature at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, and indulge your thirst for a good beer at Islamorada Brewery & Distillery.

Traveling by car from Miami to Key Largo takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In March, plan for daily highs up to 79°F, and evening lows to 63°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 17th (Wed) so you can go by car to Key West.

Conch Republic

Located just 140 km (90 mi) from Cuba, Key West is an island only about 6.4 km (4 mi) long and 1.6 km (1 mi) wide.
You'll get in some beach time at Bahia Honda State Park and Fort Zachary Taylor. Get outdoors at Key West Butterfly & Nature Conservatory and Scuba & Snorkeling. Venture out of the city with trips to National Key Deer Refuge (in Big Pine Key) and Sombrero Beach (in Marathon). And it doesn't end there: steep yourself in history at Truman Little White House, don't miss a visit to Duval Street, take in the waterfront at Key West Historic Seaport, and walk around Mallory Square.

You can drive from Key Largo to Key West in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Traveling from Key Largo in March, you can expect nighttime temperatures to be somewhat warmer in Key West, with lows of 69°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 22nd (Mon) early enough to travel to Miami.
