Pittsburgh — 19 nights

Known primarily for its steel-related heritage and 446 bridges, Pittsburgh sits at the confluence of the Monongahela and Allegheny Rivers, which meet to form the Ohio River.
Kids will enjoy Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens and Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Pittsburgh: Idlewild & SoakZone (in Ligonier), Flight 93 National Memorial (in Stoystown) and Living Treasures Animal Park (in Jones Mills). On the 24th (Fri), spend a day ambling around Mill Creek Park. And it doesn't end there: traverse land and water with a duck tour, see the interesting displays at Bicycle Heaven, learn more about the world around you at Carnegie Museum of Natural History, and steep yourself in history at Fallingwater.
