Visiting Jones Beach State Park and Rockaway Beach will get you outdoors. Bring the kids along to The Metropolitan Museum of Art and American Museum of Natural History. Go for a jaunt from New York City to Sandy Hook to see Gateway National Recreation about 38 minutes away. Kids will appreciate attractions like Jackson Square and Audubon Aquarium of the Americas. Visit Garden District and St. Augustine Church for their historical value.
