Galena is the largest city in and the county seat of Jo Daviess County, Illinois, with a population of 3,429 at the 2010 census. Get out of town with these interesting Galena side-trips: Mississippi Palisades State Park (in Savanna), Lake Le-Aqua-Na State Park (in Lena) and Apple River Canyon State Park (in Apple River). There's lots more to do: contemplate the long history of Ulysses S. North Utica, often known as Utica, is a village in Utica Township, LaSalle County, Illinois. Start off your visit on the 9th (Fri): have fun at The Sandwich Fair, then appreciate the history behind The Middle East Conflicts Wall Memorial, and then make a trip to Standard Oil Gas Station. On the 10th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: admire all the interesting features of Cedar Creek Ranch and then admire the majestic nature at Starved Rock State Park.
