Memphis — 20 nights

The largest city on the Mississippi River, Memphis bills itself as both the "Birthplace of Rock" and "Home of the Blues." With such a rich musical heritage, it shouldn't come as a surprise that Elvis Presley chose to live in Memphis during his later years.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Elvis Presley Birthplace & Museum and Natchez Trace Pkwy. Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Elmwood Cemetery and Pinson Mounds State Park. Get out of town with these interesting Memphis side-trips: Jacksonport State Park (in Jacksonport), Helena (Helena Museum of Phillips County & Helena Confederate Cemetery) and Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park (in Millington). And it doesn't end there: stroll through Chickasaw State Park, have fun and explore at The Children's Museum of Memphis, immerse yourself in nature at Natchez Trace State Park, and see the interesting displays at Stax Museum of American Soul Music.

If you are flying in from Denmark, the closest major aiports are Memphis International Airport and Arkansas International Airport. In October, plan for daily highs up to 29°C, and evening lows to 15°C.
