Located on both banks of the Mississippi River, Minneapolis salutes the state's love of the outdoors with numerous lakes, wetlands, creeks, and waterfalls--many connected to one another by a national scenic byway great for sightseeing.
Head to Mall of America and Rybicki Cheesefor some retail therapy. Bring the kids along to Baker Park Reserve and Grand Avenue. When in Minneapolis, make a side trip to see Murphy-Hanrehan Park Reserve in Savage, approximately Savage away. There's much more to do: stop by Wild Rumpus Books, tour the pleasant surroundings at Midtown Greenway, browse the eclectic array of goods at St. Paul Farmers Market, and surround yourself with nature on Stone Arch Bridge.
