Nicknamed the "Entertainment Capital of the World," Las Vegas sits in the middle of a desert in the southern section of Nevada.
Escape the urban bustle at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and Escape Adventures and Las Vegas Cyclery. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at The Neon Museum and Wayne Newton's Casa de Shenandoah. Take a break from Las Vegas with a short trip to Don Laughlin's Classic Car Collection in Laughlin, about 1h 55 min away. It doesn't end there: get to know the fascinating history of The Strip and see the interesting displays at The Mob Museum.

Originally a frontier mining town, Durango is known today for its scenic setting, outdoor activities, and the 1880s steam-powered railway that takes visitors through sections of the mountains where roads don't reach.
Step out of the city life by going to Durango Snowbike Experience and Ruins Road. Step off the beaten path and head to Wines of the San Juan and Southern Ute Museum and Cultural Center. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Durango: Fox Fire Farms Winery (in Ignacio), Park Point (in Mesa Verde National Park) and The Anasazi Heritage Center (in Dolores). It doesn't end there: take in the exciting artwork at Toh-Atin Gallery and get a taste of the local shopping with Scenic Aperture Gallery.
