A big city with a small-town feel, Portland is home to the country's biggest rose test garden, perched on a hill overlooking downtown.
Kids will enjoy Powell's City of Books and International Rose Test Garden. When in Portland, make a side trip to see Multnomah Falls in Bridal Veil, approximately Bridal Veil away. A town that survives on the sea, Newport's population of just over 10,000 supports a healthy commercial fishing industry.
Bring the kids along to Sandland Adventures and Sand Master Park - Sandboarding.
