One of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the country, Tucson is a city on a cultural crossroads, with European, Native American, Mexican, and Asian residents blending and sometimes conflicting with one another.

Tucson is known for museums, nature, historic sites, scenic drive, and parks. Your plan includes some of its best attractions: get a new perspective on nature at Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, take some stellar pictures from Gates Pass, see the interesting displays at Pima Air and Space Museum, and admire the architecture and history at Mission San Xavier del Bac.

Eugene to Tucson is an approximately 6-hour combination of flight and shuttle. You can also fly; or drive. The time zone changes from Pacific Standard Time to Mountain Standard Time, which is usually a 1 hour difference. In January, Tucson is somewhat warmer than Eugene - with highs of 65°F and lows of 41°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 10th (Fri) so you can go by car to Scottsdale.

Scottsdale is a city in the eastern part of Maricopa County, Arizona, adjacent to the Greater Phoenix Area. Explore Scottsdale's surroundings by going to Horseback Riding Tours (in Phoenix) and Shamrock Farms (in Stanfield). There's much more to do: examine the collection at Musical Instrument Museum, admire the striking features of Taliesin West, look for all kinds of wild species at Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church.

You can drive from Tucson to Scottsdale in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus. In January, plan for daily highs up to 68°F, and evening lows to 46°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 14th (Tue) early enough to drive to Sedona.

Getting from Scottsdale to Sedona by car takes about 2.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of flight and taxi; or take a bus. Traveling from Scottsdale in January, expect Sedona to be little chillier, temps between 54°F and 37°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 18th (Sat) to allow enough time to drive to Grand Canyon National Park.

You can drive from Sedona to Grand Canyon National Park in 2.5 hours. Expect slightly colder weather when traveling from Sedona in January: highs in Grand Canyon National Park hover around 44°F, while lows dip to 15°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 25th (Sat) to allow time to drive to Page.
