Amelia Island — 1 night

The southernmost Sea Island off the coast of Florida, Amelia Island takes its name from Princess Amelia of England.
Kick off your visit on the 5th (Sat): play a few rounds at TPC at Sawgrass Stadium Course. Bangor to Amelia Island is an approximately 7-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus, train, and taxi. Traveling from Bangor in August, expect Amelia Island to be a bit warmer, temps between 89°F and 77°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 6th (Sun) to allow time to drive to Crystal River.

Located just 140 km (90 mi) from Cuba, Key West is an island only about 6.4 km (4 mi) long and 1.6 km (1 mi) wide.

There's still lots to do: examine the collection at The Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum, explore the world behind art at Fort East Martello Museum, stroll through Key West Butterfly & Nature Conservatory, and browse the exhibits of Truman Little White House.
