The Big Easy

Known for its Creole cuisine, rich musical tradition, and nearby swamps and plantations, New Orleans is one of the nation's oldest cities.
Attractions like The National WWII Museum and French Quarter make great kid-friendly stops. Spend the 29th (Sat) exploring nature at Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve. There's much more to do: appreciate the extensive heritage of Jackson Square, get in on the family fun at Carousel Gardens, examine the collection at Louisiana Children's Museum, and stroll around Audubon Park.
