Big Apple

Writer Pearl Buck once called New York City “a place apart,” and this giant urban center remains unlike any other in the world.
Attractions like Central Park and Fifth Avenue make great kid-friendly stops. Appreciate the collections at 9/11 Memorial and DM Weil Gallery. Get out of town with these interesting New York City side-trips: Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge (in Oceanville) and The Ohel (in Cambria Heights). There's still lots to do: explore the world behind art at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, examine the collection at New York Public Library, take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. Patrick's Cathedral, and take an in-depth tour of Ellis Island.

Theme Park Capital of the World

For most people, any mention of Orlando immediately conjures up images of sprawling theme parks filled with characters plucked right out of popular animated movies.
Get in touch with nature at Discovery Cove and Fishing Charters & Tours. Attractions like Scuba & Snorkeling and Universal Orlando Resort make great kid-friendly stops. Venture out of the city with trips to Titusville (Valiant Air Command Warbird Museum & American Space Museum & Space Walk of Fame). Have a day of magic on the 30th (Tue) at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Pack the 2nd (Fri) with family-friendly diversions at Universal's Islands of Adventure. There's still lots to do: get in on the family fun at Magic Kingdom Park, look for gifts at MacroBaby, admire the masterpieces at Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art, and add some entertainment to your itinerary with Happily Ever After Fireworks.
