A big city with a small-town feel, Portland is home to the country's biggest rose test garden, perched on a hill overlooking downtown.
Get in touch with nature at Cannon Beach and Mount Hood. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Astoria Column and Columbia River Maritime Museum. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Portland: Ecola State Park (in Cannon Beach), Little Zigzag Falls (in Government Camp) and Cape Meares Lighthouse (in Tillamook).
