An old colonial city and a busy cruise ship port less than an hour's drive from Houston, Galveston sits on Galveston Island and serves as a popular vacation destination for both domestic and international travelers.
Start off your visit on the 21st (Sat): get a taste of the local shopping with MiArt Gallery. On your second day here, get in on the family fun at Kemah Boardwalk, brush up on your knowledge of spirits at Railean Rum Distillery, then take a stroll through East End Historic District, and finally wander the streets of The Strand.
