In many ways much more Asian than American, Honolulu is Hawaii's largest city and its center of government, transportation, commerce, and tourism.
Start off your visit on the 28th (Sun): explore the different monuments and memorials at USS Arizona Memorial, then admire all the interesting features of Diamond Head State Monument, and then explore the activities along Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve. Keep things going the next day: admire the sheer force of Manoa Falls and then enjoy the sand and surf at Waikiki Beach.

Get some historical perspective at 9/11 Memorial and Ellis Island. Attractions like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and Central Park make great kid-friendly stops. Change things up with a short trip to Bronx Zoo in Bronx (about 36 minutes away). There's much more to do: learn more about the world around you at American Museum of Natural History, don't miss a visit to Empire State Building, examine the collection at New York Public Library, and take a stroll through Times Square.
