Nicknamed the "Entertainment Capital of the World," Las Vegas sits in the middle of a desert in the southern section of Nevada.
Kids will appreciate attractions like Waterskiing & Jetskiing and Ghost & Vampire Tours. Step off the beaten path and head to Balloon Rides and Las Vegas Harley-Davidson. Get out of town with these interesting Las Vegas side-trips: Nelson (Eldorado Canyon Mine Tours & Nelson Ghost Town) and Clark County Heritage Museum (in Henderson). There's much more to do: make a splash at Wet'n'Wild Las Vegas, stop by Las Vegas Fight Shop, trek along Historic Railroad Hiking Trail, and contemplate the waterfront views at Colorado River.

Phoenix is the capital and most populous city of the U.S. state of Arizona. Popular historic sites such as Besh Ba Gowah and Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza are in your itinerary. Kids will enjoy Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch and Apache Trail Scenic Drive. When in Phoenix, make a side trip to see Boyce Thompson Arboretum in Superior, approximately Superior away. Plan for a bit warmer temperatures traveling from Sedona in August, with highs in Phoenix at 47°C and lows at 33°C.
