Stowe bustles in winter when skiers and snowboarders flock here to challenge themselves on the long, steep trails careening down Vermont's tallest peak, Mt.
Take a break from the city and head to Middlebury College Snow Bowl and Ole's Cross Country Center. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Stowe: Alice Falls (in Keeseville), White's Beach (in South Hero) and Fishing Charters & Tours (in Plattsburgh). Getting from Shenandoah National Park to Stowe by combination of flight and bus takes about 7.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of taxi, shuttle, flight, and bus; or drive. Traveling from Shenandoah National Park in April, things will get a bit cooler in Stowe: highs are around 52°F and lows about 29°F.
