A genuine cowboy city, Cody is famous for its nightly rodeos and its proximity to the protected wilderness areas of the world's first national park, now designated as one of the country's World Heritage Sites.
On the 14th (Mon), take an in-depth tour of Buffalo Bill Center of the West, steep yourself in history at Old Trail Town, and then see human ingenuity at work at Buffalo Bill Dam. On the 15th (Tue), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take a peaceful walk through Shoshone National Forest and then browse the exhibits of Heart Mountain Interpretive Center.

You can drive from Devils Tower to Cody in 5.5 hours. Another option is to do a combination of car and flight. In August in Cody, expect temperatures between 81°F during the day and 56°F at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 15th (Tue) early enough to drive to Yellowstone National Park.
