The Big Easy

Known for its Creole cuisine, rich musical tradition, and nearby swamps and plantations, New Orleans is one of the nation's oldest cities.
You've now added Villalobos Pitbull Rescue Center to your itinerary. Take a break from the city and head to Chalmette National Historical Park and Crosby Arboretum. You'll find plenty of places to visit near New Orleans: Presley's Outing (in Moss Point), Saucier (Tuxachanie Hiking Trail & Grand Bear Golf Course) and Gulfport (Dailey Charters, Joseph T. Jones Statue, &more). There's still lots to do: examine the collection at The National WWII Museum, don't miss a visit to Jackson Square, wander the streets of Garden District, and admire the striking features of St. Louis Cathedral.
