Brooklyn
— 23 nights

Borough of Trees
Though it may be less popular or touristy than its big brother Manhattan, Brooklyn boasts of one of the largest and hippest art districts in the United States.Change things up with these side-trips from Brooklyn: Hyde Park (Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum, Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt, &more), Bronx (Bronx Zoo & New York Botanical Garden) and Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park (in Poughkeepsie). Pack the 28th (Sat) with family-friendly diversions at Sesame Place. There's still lots to do: take a stroll through Dyker Heights, get to know the fascinating history of Brooklyn Heights Promenade, get in on the family fun at Six Flags Great Adventure, and visit Dumbo.

Expect a daytime high around 48°F in December, and nighttime lows around 36°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 12th (Sun) to allow enough time to travel back home.
