Big Pineapple
In many ways much more Asian than American, Honolulu is Hawaii's largest city and its center of government, transportation, commerce, and tourism.Take a break from the city and head to Kailua Beach Park and Diamond Head State Monument. Kids will appreciate attractions like Lanikai Beach and Pele's Chair. Take a break from Honolulu with a short trip to Byodo-In Temple in Kaneohe, about 32 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: enjoy the sand and surf at Waikiki Beach, appreciate the views at Nuuanu Pali Lookout, add some adventure to your tour with a kayaking and canoeing tour, and identify plant and animal life at Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve.
