Monument Valley

— 23 nights
Monument Valley is a region of the Colorado Plateau characterized by a cluster of vast sandstone buttes, the largest reaching 1000ft above the valley floor. Take a break from the city and head to Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park and Moki Dugway. Step off the beaten path and head to Spider Rock and The Edge of the Cedars State Park. Get out of town with these interesting Monument Valley side-trips: Elephant's Feet (in Tonalea Coconino County), Chinle (Hope Arch & Mummy Cave) and Kayenta (Church Rock, Navaho Code Talkers Exhibit, &more). Spend the 14th (Mon) exploring nature at Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. There's much more to do: cruise along Utah State Route 95, stroll around Sandstone Tours, see the interesting displays at Goulding’s Trading Post Museum., and trot along with a tour on horseback.

For other places to visit, ratings, photos, and other tourist information, go to the Monument Valley trip builder website.

In September, plan for daily highs up to 81°F, and evening lows to 52°F.
