In many ways much more Asian than American, Honolulu is Hawaii's largest city and its center of government, transportation, commerce, and tourism.
Step out of Honolulu with an excursion to Kailua Beach Park in Kailua--about 32 minutes away. The adventure continues: pause for some photo ops at USS Arizona Memorial, take in the pleasant sights at Diamond Head State Monument, explore the world behind art at Honolulu Museum of Art, and see the interesting displays at Bishop Museum.

Laie is a census-designated place (CDP) located in the Koolauloa District on the island of Oahu in Honolulu County, Hawaii, United States. Get out of town with these interesting Laie side-trips: Haleiwa (Skydiving & Haleiwa Beach Park). There's much more to do: make a trip to Polynesian Cultural Center, pause for some photo ops at Pu’u O Mahuka Heiau State Monument, immerse yourself in nature at Malaekahana State Recreation Area, and admire the sheer force of Waimea Valley.

One of the island of Hawaii's major towns, Hilo contains a mix of Asian and Polynesian cultures and is known for its proximity to a national park encompassing two active volcanoes.
