Founded by the Spanish in 1521, San Juan is the oldest city under U.S.
Explore hidden gems such as The Poet's Passage and Playa Mar Chiquita. Get a sense of the local culture at Old San Juan and Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico. You'll find plenty of places to visit near San Juan: La Marquesa Forest Park (in Guaynabo), Playa Vega Baja (in Vega Baja) and Ponce (Hacienda Buena Vista & El Museo Castillo Serralles). With much of Culebra a nature refuge, the tropical island has been protected from overdevelopment, chain hotels, and the cruise set.
Kick off your visit on the 4th (Thu): kick back and relax at Flamenco Beach and then enjoy the sea views from Culebrita Lighthouse. On your second day here, see the interesting displays at Museo Historico de Culebra, tour the pleasant surroundings at Zoni Beach, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Tamarindo Beach.

For sixty years until 2003, most of the Isla de Vieques was closed off to the public, with the US Navy using the island's beaches and surrounding waters for drills and testing of new military machinery, such as bombs.
Start off your visit on the 6th (Sat): enjoy the sea views from Puerto Ferro Lighthouse, view the masterpieces at Gallery Galleon, and then take a tour by water with Boat Tours & Water Sports. On your second day here, shop like a local with Siddhia Hutchinson Fine Art Gallery, then enjoy the sand and surf at Media Luna Beach, and then stroll through Caracas Beach.

You can do a combination of flight and car from Culebra to Isla de Vieques in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can ride a ferry. In April in Isla de Vieques, expect temperatures between 85°F during the day and 75°F at night. On the 8th (Mon), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel to Luquillo.

Luquillo is a municipality of Puerto Rico (U.S.) located in the northeast coast, northwest of Fajardo; and east of Rio Grande. Start off your visit on the 8th (Mon): identify plant and animal life at Angelito Trail and then stop by Monkey Threads.
