Escalante is a city in Garfield County, Utah, United States located along Utah Scenic Byway 12 (SR-12) in the south central part of the state. Escalante Heritage Center and Hole-in-the Rock are good opportunities to explore the local culture. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Escalante Petrified Forest State Park and Willis Creek. Get out of town with these interesting Escalante side-trips: Butch Cassidy Childhood Home (in Circleville), Bryce Canyon National Park (Fairyland Point, Sunrise Point, &more) and Kodachrome Basin State Park (in Cannonville). Beaverdam is a small unincorporated community in Hanover County in the central region of the U.S. state of Virginia. Get outdoors at Powhatan State Park and Cavalier Sporting Clays. Step off the beaten path and head to Patrick Henry's Scotchtown and Bear Creek Lake State Park. Get out of town with these interesting Beaverdam side-trips: Goochland (Elk Island Winery, Byrd Cellars, &more) and Midnight Brewery (in Rockville). There's still lots to do: relax in the rural setting at Ashland Berry Farm and make a trip to North Anna Nuclear Information Center.
